Gout Radar provides educational estimates and organizes records. It does not diagnose gout, predict flares, or recommend treatment. Confirm health and treatment decisions with a qualified healthcare professional.

1. What this content is for

The Gout Radar library explains general concepts around uric acid, purines, diet, hydration, and self-tracking, and it describes how the app organizes records. The writing aims to be calm, plain, and free of fear-based or absolute language. Where the evidence is limited or debated, we say so rather than overstating certainty.

2. The evidence base we rely on

Articles draw on established clinical and nutritional references and on a reviewed purine-food reference derived from peer-reviewed literature. We point to guidelines and reviews rather than a single study, and we prefer persistent identifiers (DOIs) where they are available. The same references are listed on the About page.

3. How articles are reviewed

Each article is drafted in plain language and then checked against current clinical consensus for accuracy, appropriate hedging, and the absence of prohibited claims such as accuracy percentages, scan counts, or wording that implies the app can declare any food safe or dangerous. The same checks run automatically at build time. We do not claim a formal medical review board; we describe our process as a review against published clinical consensus.

We never instruct a reader to start, stop, or change medication or diet, and we never present an image estimate as a laboratory measurement.
