Health Score Guide

What is the Health Score?

Your Health Score is a daily indicator (0–100 points) that helps you understand how your lifestyle and gout management decisions impact your long-term joint health and uric acid levels. A higher score means healthier daily habits and better gout risk control.

How is My Health Score Calculated?

Your score combines daily lifestyle choices with your long-term gout management profile. It is broken down as follows:

1. Daily Lifestyle (70 Points)

  • Purine Intake (0–35 points) The less purine you consume compared to your recommended daily limit, the higher your score. If you exceed the limit, your score drops quickly.

  • Water Intake (0–20 points) Drinking enough water helps lower uric acid. Meeting or exceeding your daily goal earns full points.

  • Healthy BMI (0–10 points) Keeping your weight in a healthy range is key to preventing gout attacks. Ideal BMI (18.5–24.9): full points. Overweight or underweight: partial points.

  • Other Habits (5 points) This area is for additional healthy habits (like sleep or exercise), and will expand in the future.

2. Gout Risk Adjustment (Up to -35 or +5 Points)

These factors reflect your long-term gout control and may raise or lower your daily score:

  • Gout Stage If you’re in the acute or chronic stage, your score will be reduced.
  • Recent Gout Attacks If you had a gout flare in the last month or often get attacks, points will be deducted.
  • Medication and Uric Acid Control If you’re on medication and your uric acid is well-controlled, you may receive bonus points. If your uric acid is high and not on medication, your score will be reduced.
  • Current Uric Acid Level Higher levels mean a higher risk for future attacks. Severe elevation will sharply lower your score.

What Does My Score Mean?

  • 90–100: Excellent (Green) You are managing your lifestyle and gout risk very well. Keep it up!

  • 70–89: Fair (Yellow) There’s room for improvement—focus on purine control, drinking more water, and regular medication or check-ups.

  • Below 70: At Risk (Red) Your recent habits or medical profile suggest increased gout risk. Review your score breakdown and consider what can be improved today.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why did my score drop suddenly? A: A recent gout attack, high purine intake, or elevated uric acid will sharply lower your score.

Q: Can I improve my score quickly? A: Yes—drinking enough water, staying within your purine limit, and taking medications as prescribed will help.

Q: Is this score a medical diagnosis? A: No, but it is based on international clinical guidelines for gout self-management and helps you spot problems early.
