Understanding Your Gout Radar Dashboard Metrics

The Gout Radar Dashboard gives you an at-a-glance view of your daily progress in key areas that influence your uric acid and gout risk. Each indicator is designed to help you make informed, healthier choices—without the guesswork. Here’s what each metric means:

1. Health Score

What is it?

Your Health Score is a daily summary (out of 100) reflecting how well you’re managing the factors that impact your gout risk—including purine intake, water intake, and your daily habits.

How is it calculated?

A higher score means you’ve stayed within your recommended purine limit, kept up with your hydration goals, and avoided high-risk behaviors.

  • 90–100: Excellent – You’re making gout-safe choices today.
  • 75–89: Good – You’re on track, but a few small tweaks could help.
  • 60–74: Caution – Some risk factors are elevated; check your food or water.
  • Below 60: At Risk – Take extra care and review your daily habits.

Why it matters:

Your Health Score offers a simple way to stay motivated and aware of how your choices add up—helping you spot trends and make improvements over time.

2. Water Intake

What is it?

This shows how much water you’ve consumed today compared to your daily goal (typically in liters).

How to read it:

  • Green: You’re on track or have met your hydration target—well done!
  • Orange: You’re behind; drinking more water can help flush uric acid and lower your risk.
  • Blue: You’ve exceeded your goal—a good thing, especially if you’re active or it’s a hot day.

Why it matters:

Staying well-hydrated is proven to help reduce uric acid levels and prevent gout flares. Aim to reach your personalized water goal every day for best results.

3. Purine Intake

What is it?

Purine Intake tracks how much purine you’ve consumed today (in milligrams), compared to your safe daily limit.

How to read it:

  • Green: Well within your limit—excellent!
  • Orange: Approaching your limit—be cautious with the rest of your meals.
  • Red/Red-Orange: At or above your limit—your risk for a gout attack is higher, so try to avoid any more high-purine foods.

Why it matters:

Purines break down into uric acid in your body. Limiting your intake is key to reducing gout risk and staying symptom-free.

4. Risk Level

What is it?

Risk Level gives you a quick snapshot of your current gout risk based on all tracked factors.

How to read it:

  • Low (Green): Your habits are keeping you safe today—keep it up!
  • Moderate (Yellow): You’re entering a caution zone—review your intake and hydration.
  • High (Red): Your risk for a gout attack is elevated—take action by hydrating, resting, and avoiding high-purine foods.

Why it matters:

This indicator brings together your data for a real-time risk estimate, making it easy to take action when needed.
